Running ADAS Calibration and Wheel Alignment on One Frame
A shop that does both alignments and calibrations can buy one machine for both. The Autel IA900WA is $17,964.00 and performs four-wheel alignments and static ADAS calibrations from one platform. If you only need alignment, the IWA500 is $15,000.00. If you only need calibration, the IA700 is $14,400.00. Bay space, floor condition and whether you already own an alignment rack usually decide more than the model number does. This guide covers the three ways to buy, what each configuration includes, and what the bay needs in place before any of it works.
Why the Two Jobs Ended Up in the Same Bay
Static ADAS calibration positions a target at a measured distance and angle from the vehicle. The reference for that measurement is the vehicle itself, and one of the values these systems measure is thrust angle. Autel builds the connection into its own workflow: the IA700 has a built-in alignment pre-check to verify vehicle alignment conditions before calibration begins.
That is the technical case. The commercial case is simpler. Alignment is routine work that comes through the door every week. Calibration work may be less frequent, but it’s higher-value. Both need the vehicle squared up in a clear bay with room in front of it. Two separate machines means two bays set up that way, or one bay that gets reconfigured between jobs.
What the frames measure
The IA1000 measures camber, caster, toe, thrust angle, steering axis inclination, and toe-out on turns. That is a full four-wheel alignment reading, taken by the same optical system that then positions the calibration target.
Three Ways to Buy
The catalog splits into alignment only, calibration with an alignment pre-check, and both on one frame. Which one fits best for you depends on the work coming through the bay, not on which is most capable.
Alignment only: the IWA500
The MaxiAlign IWA500 is built for wheel alignment and nothing else. It does not perform ADAS calibration. It does support SAS calibration and other OEM-required post-alignment tasks.
The system is a mobile six-camera setup covering US, Asian and European models from 1975 to current. The package includes a 10.1-inch wireless touchscreen tablet with a Bluetooth MaxiVCI V200, four rim clamps with positioning targets, two wheel chocks, a brake pedal depressor, a steering wheel holder stand tool, an equipment cover, a tablet holder, and AC and 12/24V power cords.
The IWA500 with tablet is $15,000.00. The version with tablet and storage cabinet is $16,500.00.
Calibration with an alignment pre-check: the IA700
The IA700 is $14,400.00 and performs static and dynamic ADAS calibration when paired with a compatible Autel tablet and ADAS software upgrade. It is not an alignment machine. The alignment pre-check verifies conditions before a calibration rather than producing an alignment you can sell.
The frame uses an optical positioning system with six HD cameras that position calibration targets automatically, plus robotic crossbar positioning and intelligent unlevel floor compensation. Autel states this reduces setup time by up to 6X against traditional mechanical measurement. The frame is modular and portable, and it takes Autel MA600 and IA900 targets, which matters if you already own either.
Note that the tablet and the ADAS software subscription are separate purchases. The frame price is not the system price.
Both on one frame: the IA900 and IA1000
The IA900WA performs four-wheel alignments and static ADAS calibrations from a single integrated platform. Alignment coverage is US, Asian and European vehicles from 1996 and newer. Six integrated high-definition cameras position the targets automatically, the same optical system used on the IA700, and the frame moves robotically.
The base IA900WA includes the frame with its six cameras, a 24-inch touchscreen, four wheel clamps with camera targets, a steering wheel lock, wheel chocks, and the MaxiSYS software interface.
The IA1000 is $33,000.00 and automates more of the setup. It has 5-way robotic positioning covering front-to-back, horizontal, vertical, pitch, roll and yaw movement, six HD optical cameras, laser-guided floor target placement for blind spot, adaptive cruise, around-view and night vision procedures, and unlevel floor compensation. Autel specifies positioning accuracy down to 0.02 degrees. It works on level floors, uneven surfaces and rack installations. The MaxiSYS Ultra S2 tablet, the IA1000 activation card and the digital target monitors are separate purchases.
The Configurations, and What Separates Them
Both families sell as a base frame or as a bundle with targets, a tablet, or both. The letters are consistent: T means a tablet is included, LDW means lane departure targets, AS means the all-systems target package, DT means digital targets.

|---|---|---|
| IA900WA | $17,964.00 | Base alignment and calibration frame |
| IA900WAT | $23,219.00 | MaxiSYS Ultra ADAS tablet |
| IA900LDW | $24,372.00 | Lane departure targets |
| IA900LDWT | $28,146.00 | Lane departure targets and tablet |
| IA900AS | $36,815.00 | All-systems ADAS calibration package |
| IA900AST | $39,966.00 | All-systems package and tablet |
| IA1000 | $33,000.00 | Base automated frame |
| IA1000DT | $36,000.00 | Digital targets |
| IA1000T | $39,499.00 | Ultra S2 tablet |
| IA1000LDWT | $48,300.00 | Lane departure targets and Ultra S2 tablet |

The gap between a base frame and a fully targeted one is larger than most first-time buyers plan for. IA900WA to IA900AST is $22,002.00 of targets and tablet on top of a $17,964.00 frame. Work out which vehicles you calibrate before choosing a target package.
Adding alignment to a tablet you already own
A shop already running a MaxiSYS Ultra can add the alignment software rather than buying into a new platform. The MaxiSYS Ultra ADAS Wheel Alignment software update card is $1,295.00. That is a software path, not a hardware one; the card enables alignment functions on the tablet and does not replace a frame.
What the Bay Has to Provide
The frame needs a vehicle held level, at a workable height, with clear measured space in front of it. More installations stall on this than on the choice of frame.
Lifts
GT Tools sells four alignment lifts. The Autel Alignment 12K Scissor Lift is $37,000.00 and the 14K is $39,000.00. The 12K as a 12,000-pound capacity, flush or surface-mounted hydraulic alignment scissor lift compatible with most passenger vehicles and light trucks, with two jacking beams, stainless steel components and flip-down wheel stops.
The ADAS Bay Max 12K and 14K are both $43,000.00 and add a Floor Lift Table that lets all ADAS calibrations be performed within bay space. The Bay Max runways are 185 inches long and 26 inches wide, with two 6K jacking beams, front and rear-opening runways with flip-down wheel stops, a built-in runway air tire inflation kit, LED light kits and premium powder coating.
All four are ALI certified and made in North America. The Automotive Lift Institute describes its program as the only accredited program in North America to independently test and validate that a car lift model meets ANSI/ALI ALCTV safety and performance requirements, with testing carried out by Intertek and MET Laboratories. Certification applies to a specific model, not to a manufacturer, so check the label rather than the brand.
Floors and existing racks
Unlevel floor compensation appears on both the IA700 and the IA1000, and the IA1000 supports level floors, uneven surfaces and rack installations. That is compensation for a floor that is out by a small amount, not permission to ignore the floor entirely.
A shop with an alignment rack already in place has a cheaper route. The Autel HEIGHTBOOSTER is $300.00 and raises the Standard Calibration Frame so it can be used with a range of alignment racks.

Choosing Between Them
Four questions settle most of it.
Do you sell alignments? If alignment is a service you bill for, you need an alignment machine, which means the IWA500, the IA900 family or the IA1000. The IA700 pre-check does not produce a saleable alignment.
Do you have a fixed bay? The IA900 and IA1000 are bay equipment. A mobile calibration operation is a different purchase, covered in our ADAS calibration equipment buying guide.
What volume are you running? The IA1000 automates positioning across five axes and places floor targets by laser. That is throughput. A shop doing a handful of calibrations a month is paying for capacity it will not use.
What do you already own? An existing Autel tablet, an existing set of MA600 or IA900 targets, or an existing alignment rack each change the arithmetic. The IA700 takes MA600 and IA900 targets. The Ultra alignment card is $1,295.00 against a new platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one machine do both wheel alignment and ADAS calibration?
Yes. The Autel IA900WA performs four-wheel alignments and static ADAS calibrations from a single integrated platform, covering US, Asian and European vehicles from 1996 and newer. The IA1000 does the same with more automation. The base IA900WA is $17,964.00 and the base IA1000 is $33,000.00. Both are bay equipment rather than mobile systems.
Do I need a lift to run one of these frames?
You need the vehicle held level at a workable height, which in most shops means an alignment lift or an existing rack. GT Tools sells four: the Autel Alignment 12K at $37,000.00, the 14K at $39,000.00, and the ADAS Bay Max 12K and 14K at $43,000.00 each. The Bay Max versions add a Floor Lift Table that lets calibrations be performed within bay space. If you already have a rack, the HEIGHTBOOSTER is $300.00.
What is the difference between the IA900 and the IA1000?
Automation. Both measure alignment and position calibration targets optically. The IA1000 adds 5-way robotic positioning across front-to-back, horizontal, vertical, pitch, roll and yaw, laser-guided floor target placement for blind spot, adaptive cruise, around-view and night vision procedures, and unlevel floor compensation, with Autel-specified positioning accuracy down to 0.02 degrees. The IA1000 is built for higher throughput.
Can I add wheel alignment to the Autel tablet I already have?
If it is a MaxiSYS Ultra, yes. The MaxiSYS Ultra ADAS Wheel Alignment software update card is $1,295.00. It enables alignment functions on the tablet. It does not replace the frame and target hardware, so it suits a shop adding alignment capability to a platform it already runs.
Will these work on a floor that is not perfectly level?
Both the IA700 and the IA1000 include unlevel floor compensation, and the IA1000 supports level floors, uneven surfaces and rack installations. Treat that as tolerance for a floor that is slightly out rather than a substitute for a proper installation. Have the floor measured before the equipment arrives.
What does ALI certified mean on a lift?
The Automotive Lift Institute runs the only accredited North American program that independently tests and validates a lift model against ANSI/ALI ALCTV safety and performance requirements. Testing is done by Intertek and MET Laboratories. Certification applies to a specific lift model rather than to a manufacturer, so the label on the lift is what counts. All four Autel lifts GT Tools sells are ALI certified and made in North America.
Is the frame price the whole cost?
No. The IA700 needs a compatible tablet and an ADAS software upgrade. The IA1000 needs the Ultra S2 tablet, an activation card and digital target monitors. Target packages are priced separately across the range, and the difference between a base IA900WA and a fully targeted IA900AST is $22,002.00. Price the configuration, not the frame.
