Ask a QuestionI am considering your tool to replace Viper, my concern is tool slippage during operation and the contact area where line / wire meets the tool specifically where line comes up through the housing.... I use wire more than line and know what it does to contact points, is there a replaceable roller / bushing at these areas? please advise. Regards JJ NGA 28th year Master tech.
Hi JJ, those are great questions. To answer your first one, the 6” cup will hold on windshields, quarter, and back glass in all situations but extremely hard urethane and RVs. Even in those situations, all you need to do is move the tool a couple more times to keep your acute cutting angle. If you think you’re going to be doing a lot of larger vehicles, I would go with our Shortcut, which is built on an 8” platform.
As for wearing components, the cord/wire rides on all hardened stainless steel components (pulley, raised, hardened dowel pin at body contact point, and stainless steel spool. These components are all replaceable as well but we haven’t seen any come back in 2 years for replacement.
I use the Milwaukee M18 urethane gun and vacuum. I want a drill to run my short cut with. Which M18 drill is recommended? I used another drill and it was not powerful enough to spin the tool. Thank you.
Hey Roy - We've found the best tool to run on both the ShortCut and FinalCut is the Milwaukee Brushless Cordless M18 1/2" drill/driver. Bare tool part number is 2801-20.

I use this tool every single day and it performs great each day! Makes cutting out glass mess free! Highly recommend
Truly a beautiful tool, I liked it much better than others I have used.
This tool is amazing, it saves time and damage to the vehicle when needing to remove a windshield that will be put back in the vehicle.
FinalCut™ Auto Glass Cut Out Tool
It’s a nice tool for all types of vehicles especially new Ford windshields and town and country vans.
The final cut out tool is awesome. The cup doesn't slip or move. I got used to moving the cup in different positions to make it easier. Works great, highly recommend! I use it everyday. I own my own Auto Glass Company here in KC. I highly recommend. Thank you GT tools. You have a customer for life.
Makes sure you set it up correctly and move the tool around To each point and your window will be pulled out very quickly. 💯👍🏽
This is the first wire tool I ever purchased and i am sure glad I did. It works just as it should and will last for a long time.
Extremely sturdy with a solid hold on the glass. The Final Cut is made with the utmost quality. It takes the cutting time down by a huge margine. I would recommend this to anyone working with newer non molding vehicles.
This is my first wire tool I have used express and cold knives. I still express the bottom half of the window and will use the wire to do the top and sides. I’m in mn and it sure makes some winter cut outs a lot easier. My kit didn’t come with the wedge and I use a setting cut for the anchor. Other then that seems to work pretty well and is quite simple. Once your comfortable enough to use the drill it can pretty fast as well.
